GMC thicknesser blade clamps??
Hi guys. I have been working with a young vision impared lad who has a GMC 330mm thicknesser. One of his knives was broken due to the clamp plate being bent. I tried to straighten it but the holes where the screws clamp it down are domed inwards preventing correct clamping. Trying to search the internet has shown up plenty of knife options but no clamps. Does anyone have ideas of where I might find some.
Cheers, Gordon

I am not sure if this is what you mean but I have a clamping bar from an old generic thicknesser. It is about 12mm wide and 8mm thick with 7 small bolts that tighten it down to hold the blade.
I would be happy to post it to you if it suits.Tom

Thanks for your reply China. I originally did this as the piece was pretty bent up. I guess, now that he has the new blades, I can give it another go. The only thing is that they are only 2.5 to 3mm thick and pressed into shape. they are pretty soft and light weight in my opinion.

Thanks Tom, these are only 2.5 to 3mm thick and probably 25 to 30mm wide pressed into shape. I will need to get him to take a photo as he is heading my way this week to play with the bigger toys.

Is this the type of clamp they use on the GMC? This is a picture of one from the Triton which is available from Toolsparesonline and is possibly generic for that type of Thicknesser.
I am surprised that there aren't a few members who have dead GMC's that might have no more use for one of the clamps. GMC haven't been around for a while so their machines would be pretty old.

Thanks Dallas, like so many machines these days there seems to be a lot of these thicknessers around which look the same apart from the colour and branding. Unfortunately they are very lightweight and not really suitable for our hardwoods. These do look the same as the GMC ones and I have passed it on to the young guy.
