    Default Help Issue Laguna Thicknesser

    Hi,

Our Mens shed has a 24 inch 4 post Laguna thicknesser spiral/helical head and has been working a treat since 2017. We have put a bit of timber thought it in this time period with excellent results.

Only recently when we put timber in, it is now hooking up on something before the 2nd roller engages. The book that comes with the machine is next to useless apart from saying the tolerances are as small as .5 of a mil.

At this stage I have placed the machine out of order until we are able to obtain some incite in how to fix this issue. Being in Darwin there are NO service agents, however I will be contacting the company we purchased the machine off hoping to get assistance.

My though is - the chip guard which goes over the top of the cutter head has moved slightly down at the outfeed side of the cutter head and is just below the bottom cutters and the timber is catching this before getting to the 2nd roller.

All timber that is feed into the machine has been over the jointer so starting flat.

Any help or advise is most welcome.

    Hi,
For anyone that is interested, the fault/adjustment has been identified and has now been rectified I would like to thank Gregory Machinery Brisbane who spent time yesterday on the phone talking us throught dismantling the top of the machine, and provided this to check. This also provided a good view into the machine for any obstructions.

Cutting a long winded story short, it turned out the bottom rollers in the table, these rollers sit directly under the feed rollers positioned in the head of the machine, they needed to be moved up a tad. I MEAN a tad about .5 of a mil, this in itself was a task. After a bit of effort a few laughs we managed to reset all the rollers. Pleased to say all working a treat now.
