    Default Carba-Tec CTJ-680 15" thicknesser

    Hi,

I just bought myself one of the Carba-Tec CTJ-680 15" thicknesser.
I tried it out the other day and took some old 2" redgum sleepers and ran them through the unit to see what it would do.

    Here are the results:

All in all i think this is a great unit, it was even better as i didn't have to set it up as it came setup.

    G'day Seafurymike,

You won't be disappointed in your purchase. I've got the 381 model, it's a pure joy to use (except for the ruler) and like you've found runs perfectly out of it's crate. They're noisy, but noise is good.

    Enjoy.

Like Waldo said you won't be disappointed. I too have a 381 and have ran several nearly 15" wide Jarrah and other hardwood boards through it and it didn't miss a beat.

I also have the CTJ-680, great machine, very happy with it. I chose that model because the head moves up and down, not the table, so it is easier to use (don't have to adjust any outfeed roller stands for height every time you change the working height).

It is certainly a bit more powerful than the 12" GMC I used to have

The 381 and the 680 are both beautiful machines. I envy you. Looks like they do a great job too.
    Reality is no background music.
