Default Kipp clamp handles for machinery

Both fence ratchet adjustment handles on my 14 year old Sherwood combo planer thicknesser carked it about 5 years ago. Basically the plastic handles break off from their metal threaded inserts and multiple attempts to get replacement via Timbecom proved unsuccessful. A few months back a fellow Perth Member told me that these handles (in a range of sizes) were available from Sydney on ebay so I ordered a couple.

Also the new ones are nicer/heavier/sturdier than the originals.

Might be useful on other machines as well.

They are actually located in Melbourne. They have a huge range of knobs and handles.

This is their direct sales site.

If you are not in a hurry, type Ratchet lever handles into eBay, from Hong Kong, 5 weeks delivery, but only 20% of the Aussie price. They are all made in China, so I ordered quite a few different types and sizes to have on hand when needed.

I have brought the Kipp handles from Neis for both myself and the woodworking group. They hold up well to the incidental abuse from well meaning members that try to torque them tight (to failure . . .)

We had a run on the cheap CCP produced handles failing/breaking and I had already purchased and used the Kipp handles myself, so replaced as needed the lesser quality handles.

I agree, the Neis handles are a a real cut above the cheaper ones that are around. The weight of them alone says they have more of something in them than just plastic. I'm not going to buy the cheap ones again
