    Default DeWalt thicknesser woes

New site member here seeking help.
g,day all I'm David from Port Lincoln in South Oz.im a chippie by trade and a woodworker second.
so here's my problem,I have a DeWalt 735xe thicknesseser that has decided to miss behave.
the problem is this, the cutter head works just fine but the front and rear feeder rollers have decided to stop turning ( feeding).
I have raised the cutting head as high as possible in the hope of spotting the problem but all I see is the cutter turning and the feed rollers not,I have taken the side covers off and the LHS front roller bearing turns while powered but not the roller and nothing else, the drive chain that should turn the rear roller doesn't move and the same for the opposite side.

does anyone have a suggestion or experienced similar problems and have a solution.
    thanks .

Don't have a great knowledge of that thicknesser but here's an exploded view that may help you identify where the fault is.

The rollers are driven from the main motor via a series of chains. I had the main drive belt on mine take a dive which is notched polyurethane.

As I discovered you don't need to take the cover off to replace it but in investigating I did end up removing the right hand cover (as facing the infeed). You need to remove the handle then the screws on the cover to reveal the drive mechanism. There is also a chain on the opposite side as well. Again just remove the cover.

I once had this problem and thought it was a drive belt problem then someone said sometimes you need to clean and polish the feed in bed as the friction is stopping the rollers from pulling the timber through, so check that out if the belt is ok. I just cleaned up mine and it works great, I would never of thought a simple problem would cause so much trouble but there you go.

Just so happens I have the same problem with a DW734 that I am repairing for someone at the moment. I had to replace one of the rollers and the two bearing blocks that it runs in. Thought beauty, all fixed now so I will give it a test run.
Started it up to put a piece of 70 wide Pine through it and the rollers would only push a little bit and stop. Gave the timber a bit of a push and it would go a bit further.
Pulled the motor/gearbox off and opened it up. To my surprise I found that the gearbox casing was broken out where a bush is housed and when I opened up the box found that the pinion gear that runs in that bush had 2 teeth broken off.
I am going to try to repair the housing and get a new gear. If only I had known of this problem before I got the other parts, 2 lots of shipping now.
This unit had been donated to a charity organisation and appears that it was treated very roughly by the previous owner.
I got my parts from here but their parts list is faulty at the moment so I had to ring to confirm which parts I required. Another you can look at is this one but they are in the US and ends up costing about the same with longer delivery time. They do have a good parts diagram though.
    Below is my problem
