    Default Planer/jointer MANUAL required - Carbatec CTJ-196 (6 inch)

    HI Folks,
we've just picked up a nice condition Carbatec CTJ 196 jointer with a bed of about 1150mm or so, and 6" blades.
It was part of a deceased estate-sort of- the seller was the daughter of the brother of the former owner.

Anyhow, when they emptied the shed, any bits & pieces that may have come with the jointer have long since been left behind, and I was wondering if anyone here might have an instruction manual for this machine that they'd be kind enough to scan and email to me.

I'm a bit 'anal' in that I prefer to have the instruction book, even if it seldom gets looked at after day 1... but sometimes there is a gem of information there worth knowing!
There was no blade setting gauge etc either, but we can deal with that.
I'm trusting CT still stock blades, or that they're a standard type...

I was amazed how quiet it is, compared with many machines these days.

    Thanks in advance!

I can't help with that manual but it is likely that Carbatec can. I recently approached them for a manual of a product I bought second hand and they had it electronically and provided it to me.
As you pointed out, you are likely to by blades and other parts from them so it is worth asking.
I also found a manual for my table saw just by googling it. Sometimes you need to know the generic name or number as many of these are very common products.

    Good Luck

Thanks, I've been over Mr Google already.
    I'll try Carbatec.

It was simple to true & square up- all 3 stop-settings (45 deg each way & 90 deg) were about 1.5- 2 degrees off...

That worked out well - Carbatec emailed me a scanned manual for the CTJ-196 which was very nice of them!
