Default Replacing Ozito thicknesser blades. How?

I have an Ozito thicknesser and after five years of work, needs the blades replacing or reversing. I have looked at the instructions on installing them which seems not too difficult.
Has anyone done this is an Ozito thicknesser? although the instructions from Ozito seem quite straightforward, I have read somewhere that I need magnets to install the blade, is this true of the ozito thicknesser? if so, why would I need magnets?
If anyone has had experience in replacing the blades on your Ozito, please let me know and any advice would be appreciated.
    Reality is no background music.
    Cheers John

all of those 'lunchbox' style things are the same. The idea of the magnets (I think) is in supporting the blade using a jig to hold the blade up while you tighten the bolts.

example: Planer Pal® W1214 Single Magnetic Planer Knife Setting Jig for HSS Knives

It isn't necessary - they can just make the job a little easier. I just do them up lightly and check with the depth gauge then reseat if i'm out. A light tap from a soft faced mallet or lump of timber is also helpful. Tighten the bolts when you're done and re-check per the manual.
