Thanks for the ID help. I know little about woods, but can I assume that 'pine' = soft wood? Unlikely to be very durable?

Be fine for furniture and the like, no good for flooring or benchtops.

As it's treated pine, it can be used outdoors or in the bathroom or wet areas. But it's generally not good for indoor furniture as It is soft, it will dent easily and it has that green tinge. You can use it to make garden furniture though.

True. And a clear finish over that unique greeish timber would really complement a postmodernist design.

Not quite so comfortable with something more classical.

mmm. Not quite as useful as I'd hoped it would be. I hate the idea of sending it to landfill. By the time I've pulled out all the nails and cleaned it up wearing full HAZMAT gear...

If it was decent hardwood then it would be worth the effort.

On LSOP, I noticed yesterday our local Fyshwick Bunnings sold nothing but the stuff.

    No untreated MGP any more

Given its usually construction that uses it, fair enough, but it was a bloody good source of high quality pine.... especially those 6M sticks
