Seperate 8" jointer, 15' thicknesser and 10" tablesaw brand suggestion
I have a 12mtr x 6mtr shed with a 6mtr x 3mtr extension off the backend , so space isn't a problem , I have 2 phase which is common around our semi rural area ( don't know why they didn't pull in the extra phase ) so can carry extra load across the 2 phases. But I am still restricted to 230v / single phase equipment. Brand suggestions would be much appreciated from seasoned and experienced Woody's !!! Leda ,Laguna ,Carbatec ,Hare&Forbes ,Sherwood ,Woodman ,Rikon and Woodfast etc these all seem to be reasonable priced, was just after some feed back on these brands.
Cheers for any info

Giving some more info such as total budget and how firm, intended use ( what do you want to make ) will help people make relevant suggestions.

Cheers Barramonday
$2000 - $4000 for each machine would be close , but I am flexible if it means paying a little extra for the right quality, my step son is very skilled and creative joiner but has always worked with 3 phase industrial equipment and knows very little about the smaller single phase equipment on offer and suggested putting it out there on this site, so as far as projects and purpose could be anything from smaller projects to bigger cabinetry and joinery but not on a commercial scale as I am a novice but would like to have the basic's so when my step son returns from living overseas he can cut loose in the workshop. He did suggest though having separate thicknesser and long bed joiner is a bonus if your space permits. Have looked at the Laguna 2020 Fusion 3 F3 for example and it looks like a nice machine ???? But as far as tablesaw's go is there any advantage moving to 12".
I hope that info might give you an overall idea of what I am looking for Barramonday
Thanks again for any tips or help

My suggestion would be to look at trying to get three phase power on, or look at a phase converter, and then you have a huge range of secondhand, quality machines available, all the three phase machines I’ve bought (cheaply) are excellent and will give far better service than a store bought, new, asian built machine. The main issue at present is not being able to travel to pick yp anything, however, it seems courier trucks and removalists can travel around unabated,so who knows.

I recently bought a Jet long bed jointer, and a 15” Carbetec thicknesser, both with carbide cutters fitted. Both 240V. Both second hand. Around $1500 each.
The jointer in particular is delightful to use. (Even though I’m not completely sure what I’ll use it for.
Trying to choose a Table Saw is doing my head in. Coincidentally, for “new”, your price range matches what I’m looking at. (Well $4500 with gold nitride coated table….) Secondhand - like metal lathes they last about an hour before being sold.

Cheers Guys
I am actually a electrician by trade , I just done my sums , 130mtr from pillar to MB and a additional 60mtr to shed would just be around $4000 in materials and have good contacts with excavators so maybe around the $5000 mark all up , its definitely worth thinking about , just feels like a semi hobby with some potential to make a few dollars is heading towards a commercial joinery
