Sherwood 13in Deluxe Thicknesser with Helical Spiral Head
I have been looking for an alternative source of cutters for my thicknesser - as have others.
I found these, but would like to put it out there for others to also assess if they would fit as a few of us have the same machine.

yep if they actually shipped the 37deg version it would be good.... however even though i requested it I actually received the 30deg version
The other one i found didn't even bother shipping when i requested the 37deg version
Don't recall them responding to messages either
Cheers

The only thing I see missing is the radius. The picture shows straight edges and the diagram shows a radius which looks more like 100mm, but most of these sites don't show pictures or diagrams of the actual inserts they are selling which makes it very hard to know if you are looking at the right thing or not.

LIVTER do list the correct cutter BUT they seem to NOT be able to ship it as i have already ordered from them and got the 30deg version.... despite asking for the correct 37deg version.
These are in discussing this with a number of vendors as scarce as hens teeth, common available versions are 30deg, 35deg and 40deg.... i had one offer to machine them but with a high MOQ
Cheers

Likewise I have been researching an alternative source of replacement cutters, with no success. The omission of the cutter specifications from Timbercon's website may well be an oversight but it is a crucial piece of data to permit a consumer to make an informed purchase decision.
I see replacement cutters as a serious potential future supply issue for what is an essential consumable for that machine.
I have not had the use of my unit for well over a month now and it is currently sitting in a Toll warehouse somewhere in Melbourne awaiting delivery to Timbercon for a warranty claim. (Please don't ask what the fault is - as I will not disclose the details until Timbercon formally respond.)
This situation, the warranty claim plus the lack of availability of essential consumables, has me seriously reconsidering my options under Australian Consumer Law with the consumers choice of a refund / replacement / repair for a serious defect (machine won't process wood!)
The delays in receiving the unit is outside Timbercon's control due to the COVID lock down's in VIC and in all fairness to them their staff have been very good with handling my claim. They know what the warranty issue is, and have stated that the issue is not customer caused.
Therein lies my frustration - why not simply send a replacement unit immediately rather than go through the circus?? We aren't in lockdown but VIC is.
I'm still agonizing over a decision. Shame really because the thicky is a great unit overall, and the much lower noise levels are a huge bonus! I have been pleased with the results on the very small quantity of material processed so far. Thankfully I still have my old unit!Mobyturns

Did you ever get this resolved and are you able to disclose what your issue was?

YES it has been resolved, to their satisfaction.
The issue - drive rollers would not feed timber through the cutter head.
Why? - I was never given any info about the cause of the fault from Timbercon, or an opportunity to discuss the issue, or my preference under Australian Consumer Law (repair / replacement / refund), once they received the unit. It sat in limbo for a number of weeks in the couriers storage due to COVID and first I got any notification that Timbecon actually had it, or had repaired it, was an advance return shipping notice from Toll.
Outcome - The returned unit is my unit which has been repaired. Still no official confirmation of the cause of the fault forth coming. I'm happy to have the unit back and given the hassles that COVID has presented, I'm satisfied that Timbecon have responded quite quickly once they had the unit, and is commendable given the fast turn around. Its working fine now & I will leave the speculation as to the cause to others. I would prefer that wholesalers / importers / retailers are upfront about these issues / matters but at the end of the day Timbecon have fulfilled their obligations under Australian Consumer Law, however their interpretation of a "serious fault" is somewhat different to mine.Mobyturns
