Thread: Spiral Head and When to Rotate the Cutters

The way I was taught to check for a sharp TC cutter was to draw the back of your thumbnail across the edge at right angles to the cutting edge. If it is sharp the action, which simulates that of a scraper, will create a small and tiny shaving. Of course this is probably totally unacceptable in today's world of H & S.

The downside is that while I know when my blades are sharp, my thumbnails are not the prettiest in the world, but there again they never were a picture and I am probably past caring anyhow as my aspirations to becoming a hand model vanished before the turn of the century.

Thank you for your sympathies. It was a big disappointment at the time. While I am still looking at what the future might hold I am remaining optimistic that something will come up.
