Surface planer - opinion required
I have been looking for a planer for a while now and have searched through a heap of info.
Now coming down to my last few decisions. To suit my use - home, infrequent, sixe, power (single phase) and cost.
Found this - LEDACRAFT MB-152L 6" (152mm) SURFACE PLANER.
Leda Machinery Catalogue
Does anyone have one they'd like to give me their opinion on, or anyone like to comment?
Please feel free to make other suggestions.
Thanks
Lyle.

G'day Lyle,
While I don't have one, I have used the Leda 8" & that was very nice.
I have a shed full of Leda machinery & I recon you can't go past their gear. About 3 weeks ago I bought a Leda DS 25, twin drum Drum Sander .... Hmmmmm Fantastic.
I have their 10" Table saw, 17" Band Saw, 15" Thicknesser, 2HP Dusty, Router Table & now the sander.
I actually prefer Old Jointers, so I looked around & found an old rusty 3HP 12" Waldon (I think) & stripped & rebuilt it. Having said that, if you buy a Leda, you won't be sorry IMO.

Thanks Steve.
From what I have seen of the Leda equipment it certainly seems to be quality.
This machine seems to fit my buy requirements in price, size and quality.
I was hoping someone of the hundred or so lookers had some more info.

Hey Lyle,
I don't know much about the jointer you mentioned. All I can say is that everytime I use my 8" jointer I always think of how good of a choice it was to get a 8" over the 6". It really comes in handy if you can afford it.
I have a carbatec 8" and i'm really happy with it.

G'day Lyle,
Yeh mate, you won't go wrong with a Leda. Have to agree with Andy though, bigger is better.
This is mine, & I love it.

The good thing is, if it is ever not big enough, my brother has a 500mm x 2500mm with a 5hp 3phase that I can use.
