    Default Thicknesser alignment (vertical)

Hi. I own a Hare and Forbes thicknesser. Its about 6 years old (great old machine that has worked flawlessly till now). I think it was the previous model to this one W805 | T-330 Deluxe Thicknesser | machineryhouse.com.au .

Does anyone know how to do a fine adjustment to the vertical height - so both sides are of even height ?

On mine, a circlip popped off the bar underneath the machine which transmits the lifting force from one side of the machine to the other (needed because the winding handle only works directly on one side). The plastic gears popped out of alignment. I have set them back, but still need to do a fine vertical alignment.

    cheers

I have just done my Ryobi for exactly the same reason and it doesnt appear to be much different to yours.
Remove height adjuster handle, 4 screws in top cover housing (they screw into the 4 guide posts).
On the height adjustment screw there will probably be lock nuts that the screw passes through, one of them locks the adjustment, the other adjusts the registering of the screw for correct alignment - adjust that ( a bit of trial and error to determine which direction you need to go, up or down). I used the stock of a small steel square (length approx 100mm) to gauge the cutter head from the base of the machine.
Re-assemble and check with 2 small pieces of timber run through 1 at each side of the cutter head.
I was fortunate, it was correct first go.

    Cheers

Thanks Ray. I havent done it yet but it looks like the machines are pretty much the same so should work.
