Hi,

I am planning to buy a thicknesser and was reading an old thread over five years old. A contributor mentioned that the thicknesser in use would not plane thinner than 6mm. I did an evening course at TAFE 27 hours a term over three years and we had a jig that was a 19mm thick piece of MDF with a cleat that hooked over the edge of the infeed table and was long enough to keep the timber supported as it exited past the heads. This meant you could plane thinner boards without fear of meeting the metal table. Not sure how thick/thin you could go though.

I hope this helps someone
