    Default UK benchtop thicknesser equivalents

    My UK-based son is looking at buying a benchtop thicknesser and has asked me for guidance. I am well aware of the DeWalt range as well as Carbatec and Sherwood. The last 2 are Australian brands and I presume that these machines are sold in other countries under different brand names. Does anyone know if there are UK equivalents? Any experience/knowledge on other brands?

    The UK has a big tool supplier called Axminster. Like Carbatec or Timbecon but bigger. He could also get on the UKworkshop forum and ask around. Far as I know the Dewalt 735 is not available in the UK but Makita, Matabo and most of the usual international brands are.
