Wally thicknesser
G'day all
I've been fairly quiet lately (some may say thank christ for small mercies) as I've been wearing my old bones out with the extensions. Lock up this week if the rain holds off. Then will start renovating a part of the old part of the existing house.
Anyway I digress.
Still pondering the purchase of a thicknesser and I came across a couple of Dewalts on eBay.
One was new in its shrinkwrapped box currently at about 550 bucks and the other had been used twice and currently 750 bucks.
Any reviews around here i can read (save me the search) or comments for or agin the product?
Cheers

G'day Sheddy, hope the extensions come along well for you.
About the thicknesser, the DeWalts are very good machines. I have a DW733 and it does a grand job. The DW734 is marginally better but the best of the three is the latest DW735 which is the ducks nutz.
You may want to consider whether you want disposable blades or resharpenables (?).
Setting the knives can be a pest but the DW735 is lauded as being the easiest.
Edit: of the two Oz lots currently on eBay, I'd go for the DW734 as it is a three bladed planer, smoother finish than the two bladed DW733.

Interestingly a poll done on the forums a while ago showed that GMC Planer owners had less hassles than Dewalt Planer owners.
So much for the crowd who reckon it aint good quality if it aint expensive.

check carbatec,
they were clearing the delta 12" machines quite cheaply, there may be some left.
cheersAny thing with sharp teeth eats meat.
Most powertools have sharp teeth.
People are made of meat.
Abrasives can be just as dangerous as a blade.....and 10 times more painfull.
