I'm in the same boat but no one other than member L G Cooper seems to have had any experience with one, L G - your comments would go a long way to helping a few people make an informed choice

I was interested in buying the Woodfast, thinking that it was a rebadged Jet (which is a good machine but $1000 more). It is not the same machine. The Woodfast is a very ordinary design (e.g. in the Jet the entire top pivots away so that access to the thicknesser is good. In the Woodfast only half pivots). The fittings are all pressed steel or aluminium (fence) with the exception of the table (which is cast iron). It is a machine for light weekend use.

In the end I opted for a Carba-tec 8" jointer, which is a cast iron tank. I already had a Delta 12.5" thicknesser, a superior design to the Woodfast thicknesser section. These two machines together would cost the same as the Woodfast on its own.

    Regards from Perth
