Looking for parts
Hi! People, I am looking for parts for a 1981 Craftmaster drill press Type TCE-13 with a manufacturer's # TC 8376 5 speed 13mm chuck.
Okay, before you put your hand to face and snigger at this silly old blokes penchant for the difficult, I must say that what I have of this machine is in good condition, no bearing slop, every thing is good in anywhere it can wear. And what there is of it was free. The motor is in good condition, with no sparking on the armature or start load noise.
Missing is the table, a pull down handle and the return spring for the chuck return.
The maximum sized table could be 158mm centre to outside. The new small drills have a square plate that do not rotate and is fixed to the shaft. It looks like this one was a round plate with a 32mm shaft under the plate and fitted onto the back shaft fit, allowing for a complete rotation of the plate.
Current round plates are 145mm dia.
The spring return is the same size as the small Ozito or Ryobi drills at Bunnings, so I don't think I have trouble there, I could even use one larger than the one that was the original.
Anyone got an old Craftmaster hidden away in the shed?
Thanks Black Bear
