8 Inch Jointer
I'm new to the forum, so I hope I'm not revisiting an already answered question.
I am in the market for an eight inch jointer and would like some feedback from anyone who has a Carbatec CTJ-350 or a Hafco P-200H. I want to buy the best tool I can afford so as I'm not haveing to upgrade too early.
there is a big difference in price between the two so any input would be greatly appreciated. I can afford the Hafco machine now but if required I will save for the Carbatec.
I have found that getting any good information from the retailers is difficult, so I hope some of you can shed some light on things.

I have had my CTJ-350 from Carbatec for 7 years now. A great machine for the price and only a minor problem with the pulley coming loose. An additional hole tapped for another grub screw solved the problem.

I have the Hafco one and am very pleased with it.
I used to have a CT 6" one but I like this one better.

Hi Wolffie
Just had another look at the Hafco one. A bit of a concern about the fence, it has a lot of play and the staff there didn't know why. I assume it has something to do with the setup and their lack of care when the display was assembled.
Is this a problem with the unit or is it easily rectified when setting up out of the box.
Regards
David
