    Default Advice sought on changing belt for a Teknatool TL-1000

    Hi Guys
    I was given a Teknatool ( possibly it is TL-1000 ) wood turning lathe sans the motor. The motor pulley was supplied.

    This lathe has sat under an awning roof for 20 years in the Nth Queensland climate.

    If some one owns one and has renewed the flat ribbed belt, are you able to inform me on how to do so with damaging the machine, please ?

    The bearings feel Ok, but I am not ready to buy a motor until I at least, can change the belt and possibly the bearings - if they are not outlandishly expensive.

    This lathe will only be used occasionally to turn file handle and knobs.


    At the moment I am not even sure which direction the spindle is withdrawn through the pulley.
    I have googled the Teknatool site but have been unable to source a manual.

    Any information on disassembly will be gratefully received.

    Hi Grahame

    There are a couple of TL1000 manuals in the Library - Manuals section on the forum. Page 2. Halfway down the page under 'Teknatool Manuals'. There is a diagram and notes on removing the spindle.
