    Default Bench Morticer from Timbecon

I've always had a hankering to buy a morticing machine. I don't really know why because I make all of my mortices with a router and a jig. Of course the downside is that you get round corners which requires you to either square them or round the tenons.

Anyway, Timbecon has this one marked down from over $400 (because of the good Aussie dollar they say). I wondered if anyone had any experience with this particular one? Or even if someone just wants to argue against buying one in general...

It is a sherwood so I don't know. Your chance to get a really crap machine is high.

Yes you get what you pay for. What can go wrong though? It's only a motor on a stick with a spinning thing at one end.

It looks ok for that price. But don't consider the set for $757.90. Individually the morticer, sharpening set and chisel set add up to $626.95.
Those were the droids I was looking for.

They probably haven't updated the set price with the new machine price! Good ol' Timbecon

I've got a set of bits. I bought one of those drill press attachments a few years ago. I've only used it a couple of times because it's a bit of a hassle to set up and you always need the drill press for other things. It's quicker to use the router.

But if I had one of these, I could just walk over to it and bang in a mortice. I'm a very lazy woodworker...
