    Default brad gun firing blanks

    just suddenly started firing blanks
sounds like a brad is going in - leaves a depression where you would think a brad is
plenty of air pressure plenty of brads
tried 20mm as well as 30mm

it will fire a brad every 3 or 4 shots

any ideas why it should suddenly start doing that??

    I can only think of
    a) the nails aren't sliding freely in the carriage or the spring has disappeared (which you would feel when loading)
    B) the firing pin is not returning fully
    c) wrong brads
    regards

Have you got the correct gauge brads in?,the other thought is if you have been using it a lot there some times gunk right near the driving pin that can block the strip of brads moving forward.
Many guns have a front plate that you open to clear if you have a miss fire and a jammed brad, are you sure that there are no miss fired brads in this area.
Take out all the brads from the feed slide, blow out with compressed air then try again.

    thanks boys
ii checked it over and found that the front section of the gun firing mechanism is spring loaded and can be easily pull off revealing the piston and the channel it travels in
everything looked clear - no bits of steel etc fouling it so i slopped a little light machine oil around the mechanism and in the mag - fired it a few times with no brads until it dried out - seems to be ok now

been a little reticent with adding oil around the coupling as i wasn't sure how often to do that - seems i need to do that every time i use it and also be a bit more generous with the oil
