Default Carbatec 12" Belt Disk Sander - A Bad One

just put together a carbatec 12" disk and belt sander - the bottom bearing doesn't align in the platen by 100/1000, and if you losen the platen and 'make the bearing fit when you secure it, the belt runs at teh extreme left of its travel (in the horizonatl position) with no adjustment to allow it tobe centred.

V Poor QC by Carbatec - antone else experience this?

    Default Carba-tec Tools

It's little, but important, omissions like that that helpC-T keep prices down. Unfortunately it also keeps a lot of their stuff at the crap end of the scale.

On the other hand I'm sure C/tec would be only too happy to exchange it for another one or give you your money back.

I have always found them easy to deal with, unlike some others I won't name.

I suppose this sort of problem is the inevitable result of mass production to a price, if they made it to very exacting standards most of use wouldn't spend the money required.

Yes they've offered to 'look'at it - will let you know how it goes. As the machine had a running time of about 4 mins while i looked at the problem, a replacemnet should be in order. But will wait and see.

They replaced it with a new one! Works a treat.
