I dont know about the Carba-tec one but I have a Ryobi one that looks almost identical (AP13) I got it from Bunnings about 12 months back and since then its been getting a hammering but hasn't failed me yet
Only problem i've found is a little bit of snipe... but that is probably more due to operator error
If your interested heres a review of the one that i have.

Dear Jordan,
Yes, that particular machine - in all it's different liveries and brand stickers - does indeed suffer from Snipe.
Here is a link to a cracking-good thread by a very intrepid Forumite named Apricotripper, in which he tames the said problem in the Ryobi-badged version of the machine:

Not a fix for the faint-hearted, though. Are you a tool-tinkerer by chance?..
Best Wishes,
Batpig.

I have one and no snipe problems.
It does the job its meant to, nothing more, nothing less.
Cheers,
Ross.

Hi Jordancoe
Like Fozz, I too have one of these machines and agree that snipe is not a huge problem. If the timber is adequately supported on both infeed and outfeed sides the snipe can, to all intents and purposes be eliminated.
For the dollars, they are a very good machine.
Cheers
