Advice needed please
Minimum Cold Cranking Amps required to fire up a 23hp Vanguard 4stroke motor
Battery I have is only putting out 310 CCA
Doesn't seem enough

310CCA should be OK but if it’s only being used every now and then I would be looking at a deep cycle AGM battery

Some of the Briggs motors had a sneaky profile ground on the intake lobe of the cam to make the engine easier to spin over to start. The only problem is that for it to work properly the inlet valves need to be set "spot-on". If the gap opens up a bit things are hard to turn over. The next weakest link in the chain is the starter motor. The Vanguard may differ from the other Briggs engines but I would still check valve clearances if the engine is hard to turn over. Then check the brushes in the starter and lube the bearings/bushes.
