I have the same problem, how did you go with the part?

I got a replacement pinion from my local Building Supply. They had to order it and it took a couple of weeks but at least Lightburn is still in business with available parts. I was a bit surprised to find the pinion running the pressed metal flutes on the barrel. I was looking for cut and hardened teeth. Mr Lightburn must have reckoned his system would stand up and sure enough it has. The pinion looks like it was cast from Zinc (or something similar) so it wears away before having to replace the whole barrel (which would mean a new mixer complete)

That's very interesting.
How much did the pinion cost you ? and was it a 10 tooth ?

I haven't got a new pinion yet. Still not sure where to get it.
In the mean time, I've spent time cleaning it up and painting it.
While working on it I discovered that the motor turns the bowl backward to what it was when manufactured. I know the motor is not original and it might have been an accident that it turned out that way but it's probably a blessing. The motor is the similar to a 70's whirlpool washing machine with slots around it and on the ends for cooling so I also made a cover for it to prevent water getting in.
The bowl is now running on the good side of the pinion. The clearance between the pinion and the bowl is set using several washers at the bowl pivot. I swapped one of the washers around to close up the gap a bit and now the bowl runs very close to the base of the pinion teeth where the most meat is.
It will be interesting to see if it holds up to turning the weight of wet cement. I think it will be alright but it would be better if I can get a new pinion.

It would be handy to know what the bowl capacity is too. ?
The bowl is about 590mm diameter at the base X 560mm high.
It was all rusty coloured when I got it and I welded a couple of new foot plates on as well.

The repair I did to the mixer was maybe 5 years ago so I can't recall the exact amount but it could have been $30?
The mixer is a 2.2cuft but they first of all sent a pinion for a 5cuft. While I was at it I stripped the mixer to bits and cleaned and painted it. It was really too nice to use.....but I did.

I have a mixer similar, but not identical, to yours. I'd suggest replacing the wheels with larger ones for movement over unpaved terrain. Also, the small handle for towing is very close to the chassis; mine is different but also small and close. I found an extension handle merciful to my shins.

I tried them ,no luck, they told me to take it to the tip
Parts haven't been available for a couple of years...

If anyone knows of these pinions please let me know, i hate throwing stuff out
