Changing Sanding Discs
I have a Woodfast DS300 disc sander that I use very often. The biggest problem I find, is changing discs from one grade to another. I worked out an easy way to do this without having to dismantling the table assy. I use an opaque thin plastic cutting board, that had outlived its purpose in the kitchen, rounded one end to the 300 diameter and slip this between the hook backing and loop disc, rotating the disc as I go. After a full rotation, slide the disc out and replace it with the new one, lining it up on the edge, hence the opaque board, slide the board out and job is done.

Another way Kryn is to cut the old one down the middle into two halves, makes for easy removal too. Then put the old ones back on but back to front (ie sanding surface towards the machine disc) as a backing for the new one, so acts like your plastic sheet, then just remove the two half old sheets by rotating the main disc.
The main advantage of this method is that if the new disc moves whilst removing the first half you can put it back and move it again. I found with the whole plastic sheet method sometimes it moved slightly whilst trying to hold the disc and remove the plastic at the same time.Neil____________________________________________Every day presents an opportunity to learn something new
