Default Craft Master CCL 1000 Lathe

    IMAG0354.jpg IMAG0355.jpg
An acquaintance of mine has offered me this unit for around $350.00
Sorry I can't get the pic bigger, its come off a txt.

I've done a search for it but all I can find is this site which I think is in Canada. He thinks it was shipped through Hare & Forbes.
He says that he paid $450.00 for it (second hand) and it was used by his son for a high school project 5 years ago. It has 4 speeds and comes with a set of chisels.

    Is it worth it?

I'm afraid i'm not that cluey with this terminology steamjunkprops. I checked it out on Wikipedia, and in laymans terms a morse taper is good because you can retro fit things like drill chucks?

Morse taper is a tapered hole which drive centres, live centres and chucks fit into.

    Thanks

    found this too
A tapered hole in the spindle end, also found in the tailstock barrel. Small accessories such as centres and drill chucks are held by just friction in the socket. They are removed by knocking them out with a rod fed through the hole in the spindle/tailstock barrel. Mr Morse gained fame by devising the exact angle of taper required to give reliable retention but easy ejection.

Never herd of a morse taper before and didn't have a point of reference.
