Clearly I need to allow more time to search on google before running to the forums. Hope the links help others out there looking at some different options.

Couple more online reviews

Don't believe we can get Rigid products in New Zealand.

Older article but still relevant.
On a side note does anyone know if there are still "issues" with the DeWalt DW735 blades?

Thickness Planer Review and Blades
I have noticed many people complain about the DW735 blades going dull to easily. I am not sure if DeWalt has addressed this issue, but I know of a few cases where a call to their complaint department resulted in a free set of blades. Of course if they are just going to do the same thing and go dull fast- it may not be worth the effort to make the call.
There are some aftermarket blades that fit this thickness planer and they seem to hold up pretty well.
If you are still looking for information go to Thickness Planer ? Reviews, Blades, Snipe, Dust Collection for reviews on DeWalt, Makita, and Ridgid thickness planers.
Cheers!
