    I am looking for a 6 step pulley for a Richardson Drill press. Any leads appreciated. Mine is cracked.

    Are you sure it's a 6-step pulley? I thought they were 5.

    Definitely six Chris. This is the drive pulley, obviously. I'm chasing one of these for my Richie.

    Is this the link you are after?
    Take note that the chart is for A section pulleys but if yours is different at least you will be able to check with them as to whether they have what you want.

    No, this is the one I'm interested in, I couldn't find the right pulley in the SKF one.

    You will not believe this, they are half an hour from me, I'll give them a call next week. Thanks for making me look again, I didn't find them before.

    Well that lead came to an abrupt end with this reply to my email enquiry.

    "Hi John

    The reference you have there is from Stenco.

    Unfortunately they closed down a couple of years ago and we are unaware of anyone in Australia manufacturing stepped pulleys any more, so we're unable to source them.

    We've known people to pick up spares of other machines, source OEM parts or have them cast privately to solve the problem.

    Failing to find a pulley you could install a 240V 3 phase motor and use a VFD to control the speed. As a way to control speed it is a far better solution and a single pulley can be sourced from a lot of places. Motor rewinders often have second hand motors for not much money.

    Mick Moyle's in Sydney are showing a couple of what looks like "A" section multi stepped pulleys on their website; might be worth a phone call. Mick Moyle's Engineers Supplies
