Default Drill Press Rise and Fall

    Hi
I have an old pedestal drill press but the table has to be manually lifted and lowered. Has anyone seen a rack and pinion that can be fitted to a 3" column or something that would do the same job. Cheaper the better.

I have never had a ratchet lift on mine just loosen and lift by hand. But you could always use an old 4WD jack.

The Easyriser is very well designed and made but it's very easy to make one where the counterweight move outside the column. I made one with a length steel of cable, a pulley and some lead weights. It works a treat.
