Default Drill press not running true

My drill press brought from total tools around 6/7 years ago .
    Is not running true .
What should I be looking for when I strip it down ?
    Any help much appreciated .
I don't think it is just the chuck.
But I could be wrong .

    Start with the basics.

Check everything is seated well remove chuck and M2 if fitted clean the mores tapper and replace test and see if still running out.

Check bearings slack, while drill is not turned on grab chuck and see if you can physically feel any play.

depending on how hard the bearings have been worked they do wear they may need replacing

some drill press do have adjustment which will help. Check manual if you still have one.

And check its not one of the chucks jaws thats crooked or out of whack.
bit of shavings in there can make one jaw sit funny.

After 6/7 years of use, you might need to check the quill "slop". On my chinese Toolex drill press, this is an unmentioned screw and locknut arrangement on the side of the head.
