seems to be that there are a lot of poorly made New drill presses out there.
Like Lucky duck, I have a Parken - and the quality, fit and finish is outstanding. I was lucky enough to find one second hand that is basically brand new (just on 2 years old and barley used).
Parken do have tilting table drill presses and square tables. but it looks like its not for the top of the range models.
Mine is the 27s-b7 and it has a tilting square table. Pricing for a new 27s-b7 is about $2400, with the larger 226-b8 at about $3777 (think thats without GST). add a bit more if you want variable speed.
I also have an older Taiwanese model drill press about 27 years old bought from new, its nothing pretty to look at and it looks a lot like many that are made now that a full of slop in the important parts. Mine however has less than 0.01mm runout on the spindle and 0.12mm slop in the quill. For what it is, those specs are pretty good - so it is possible that others like it are out there for sale second hand.

A VFD attached to a drill makes speed changes painless as does a gear head drill such as a Brobo but gear head drills are very noisy or at least my Brobo is to the extent if I use it for extended periods of time I use ear defenders. Some Asian DP's have a inbuilt converter but this one does just about everything without the tool room price tag. The only issue I have with it is the stupid little screen but that may not be a problem for you. Why they don't allow for an external screen is a mystery to everyone. The facilities it offers make it unique as no one has done a competitor to it.
