    Default Drilling a bandsaw table

Hi all. I bought a Kreg bandsaw fence for my 14" elephant brand band saw but there are no bolt holes in the table. How difficult do you think it would be to drill and tap this metal?

It will be cast iron. Should drill and tap easily. I don't remember it being a problem when I installed the fence on mine.
Use plenty of lubricant and clear the swarf frequently.
Those were the droids I was looking for.

Just a word of caution, some of those cast iron tops are not very thick ( and don't stand over tightening) other than where the ribbing is,if you drill and tap on a rib OK, other than that if it is bit thin tap through, screw a bolt through and screw up a nut with some arildite on it from underneath, let set them run your tap through and you end up with a good strong anchor point.

Done. Was easy to drill, starting to look like Swiss cheese now though cause I didn't read the instructions and placed the fence rail over the mitre slot. Thanks for the advice.

It'll be lighter next time you have to move it somewhere
