    Default Durden Junior Joiner

    Hi woodworkers,
I have recently acquired a Durden Junior Joiner (in pieces) and am putting it together.
I would like to be able to use it for doweling but am not sure what type of drill bits were made for use with it as it appears to only take drill bits which have a half inch shank. Is this correct?
I would be grateful for any information on how to use the machine for doweling.
    Thanks ...
    Grandfather Joh

    Default durden manual

    Hi Grandfather Joh,
You might find it useful to get hold of the Durden Junior Joiner manual - have a look here -

    http://www.fwhercus.com.au/jrdebay/e...ner_Manual.htm

It has pretty much everything in there and should help you with putting all the bits and pieces in the right place

    Good luck with the restoration.

Think that half inch hole takes a drill chuck.

    Thanks busyhands and Zsteve.
    Progress has been made.
Now have a copy of original manual and it mentions that two sizes of half inch shank dowelling dril bits were available (in 1960s or thereabouts ) None available now in sizes less than half inch.
So made a half inch mandrel with 3/8 thread to take a small drill chuck and now can drill any chosen sized hole.
    Good addition to workshop.
