dwwalt SCMS and laser light
Have a Dewalt SCMS I purchased years ago S/H great piece of gear and use it a lot. I notice the modern ones have a red laser light that gets your cut line dead accurate.
There are a number of aftermarket 'shadow line lights and things available, Id prefer the red line....
so.....thoughts ideas suggestions etc pleaseI would love to grow my own food, but I can not find bacon seeds

I have seen videos of this style in use and they seem to work well. Clamps between the blade and blade clamping bolt, turns on when the bade is spinning, off when it is stationary, powered by 3 LR44 button cells, lasers are mounted at the side of the blade so there is no parallax error. Only issue I see is that you cannot position work under the laser with the blade stationary as the laser would be off, so final fine tuning of position must be done with the blade spinning, how much of an issue this is would depend on how you tend to work.
I'm not aware of any others available as an add on unit for a saw without a built in unit.I used to be an engineer, I'm not an engineer any more, but on the really good days I can remember when I was.

thanks Malb, there is an electrical repair shop in town, the owner owes me a favour, I know that the newer Dewalt saws have this feature....need to see what model I have and then see if it could be retro fitted
