Hafco Dust Collector DC-1
Anyone have an opinion of the Hafco Dust Collector DC-1

I'm really running out of space in the garage so I need a small dusty (can't mount an external one as the neighbors are too close)

I used to own one of those and it works well. However it would depend on what your intended use is, I had to upgrade because it didn't cope all that well with my 10" tablesaw, and didn't cope at all well with the 15" thicknesser.
It is designed for smaller machines, such as a 12" thicknesser, and needs to be connected direct to a single machine, ie no long ducting etc.
I upgraded to the Hafco 2hp model, with pleated filer cartridge and am very happy with that.

It will handle those machines OK, just keep an eye on the GMC Thicknesser, I had one of those with TonySA's DC mod and sometimes it would clog, but no big drama.
Keeping the top bag relatively clean and not clogged with dust is important to keep airflow up.
Overall, it served me well, and it is well priced.

A good buy
John, went out to Hafco after the Brissie T&WWWS and bought one. I have a big dust collecter but wanted a small portable one to use on my router table and bandsaw that was quieter than the noisy vacuum cleaner I was using, and when it arrived I gave it a run and when I got around to emptying it I was shocked how much superfine dust was on the pre filter bag, instead of my lungs filtering it,
regards,
Crocy
