Planer
I watched hgtv. In an I industrial shop a long 6x6 or 8x8 was run through a planer. Why was th ere no snipe?

I would guess perfectly flat infeed and outfeed, a well set up machine and the weight of the timber would also help.

The only time you'll get snipe on industrial machinery is when something isn't aligned properly.

You can prevent snipe if the board is supported along its length in such a way that it does not move up or down. Any such movement will push the ends - where movement is only possible - into the blades. Using a long MDF platform through the planer/thicknesser is a common type of supprt used if the in- and outfeed tables are insufficient.
