    Default Happy springtime neighbors!

    Thanks for reading.

I’ve finally had an idea good enough to sell that I’m in the market for my first lathe. I’ve got about $600 in store credit at both HD and Lowe’s so for now I’m gonna settle for something that’ll get the job done and then upgrade later.

Any opinions about this WEN lathe from HD? ...

Just FYI, this is a primarily Australian forum, I suspect most of us won't know what's available in the US (especially on the used market) so don't be disappointed if you don't get a lot of responses. Some stuff might have been sold here under a different name, but, again, no guarantees we'll know about it.

That's right, thanks for pointing that out Elan. I've edited my message after realizing I have some store credit at Home Depot.

It's also definitely not spring here, its autumn (or "fall") here at the moment although with floods on one side of then country and a few weeks of 90F+ and high humidity on the other side who knows what it really is.

And just to be different today it was just like a balmy spring day

I can’t even open Home Depot’s website. I not sure what they’re selling that they bothered going to the effort of blocking access to their website for some countries (I can access their website from my work computer which breaks out to the internet in Europe).

Well, must be an international thing with the HD site.

Just like that I've changed directions. What does anyone think about the Delta 46-460 midi-lathe? It's 1 HP and with the extension it'll have a 42" bed.
