jigsaw blade size
Found some old blades for my jigsaw, but was having a hard time getting the blade to stay deep on the downstroke, and so cut performance is poor, plus tip is overheating quickly. Blade is only 3 inches long, used for scroll saw work. My jigsaw is a Dewalt DW331. Called Dewalt tech support, but they didn't know what minimum blade length should be. I had jigsaw on "no scroll" to maximize depth, but still not helping. I had the 3" blades left over from a multipack in the past with a different jigsaw, but did not realize that perhaps different jigsaws have different depths that the blade-holder goes down to.....at full upstroke the 3" blade only extends about 1/4" to 1/2" below the jigsaw baseplate, and almost snags on the wood or metal piece being worked on. Any thoughts?
