Default Wanted: OLD Lightburn mixer drive pinion

Looking for a drive pinion for an old Lightburn ( A Frame type) concrete mixer.

Failing that if anyone has a mixer that has a relatively unworn drive pinion, is it possible to get its dimensions as then I might be able to get a mate with a CNC mill to cut one.
    That says it about all.

I am surprised that no one has replied to your request.
I have had my Lightburn Mixer for more than 30 years. I estimate that in that time it has mixed about 60 cubic metres of hard work. About 5 years ago I thought it was time to, at least, give the old dear a "liquid overhaul". I pulled it a part cleaned and painted it. The pinion was worn so I ordered a replacement from our local (and independent) hardware store. It took 2 goes to get it right (the first one that arrived was for a 5 cubic foot mixer) but the new part turned up and was fitted. It is made from diecast metal. I was very surprised that they used such a crappy material but it is a "sacrificial part" so it won't wear the pressed metal (steel) teeth on the bowl.
So if you still need to fix the mixer I would at least try your hardware store or get onto Lightburn direct and order it there
Years ago I did a mod to the mixer. My builder's size barrow would not fit under the bowl for discharging the mix. So I cut the tube frame where they come together side by side and slipped a piece of 2" X 1" RHS over the 2 pieces, welded it all up and lifted up the bowl enough to get the barrow under the bowl. Previously I tried sitting the mixer on a stack of timber or bricks but due to the lightness of the mixer frame it would flop all over the place. The mod has worked well
I reckon you doing up your mixer is worthwhile because to mix concrete in it is just so easy and convenient. OK this size mixer is small but it doesn't take that long to do a job

    Just do it!

    Kind regards Rod
