Default looking at S/H bench drill press

Am hoping to buy one from Coffenup if he replies, I know his health is not good, just hope he hasnt gone pear shaped.

meanwhile been offered this Waldown drill press, Type 8SN Series 2, 1/2" capacity, McColl Jr motor also made in Australia, good original condition.(?)

Very heavy, cast base, platform and drill body, Top shroud appears to be a replacement.no joke sherlock)

    Works well.

A high quality Aussie made drill press.
    asking $300 I think they are dreaming...thoughts. https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/gzUAA...Zj/s-l800.webp

    Only little too much!

I picked up a Husky 12 speed DP for $20 - was told too much play in it for precision work, but in good condition otherwise - ok for woodworking. It works just fine.

Waldown are very well made and provided everything works and the quill is not slopping about it should last a lifetime. I would happily pay $300 for it if the original top guard was still on it so try and talk it down a bit.
My brother scored one when his work closed down and I have serious drill envy. The thing purrs.

will contact seller when in Adel offer $200 if yes...goody goody if no than I'll be just as happy.
It will give me time to start making bench to fit all this stuff on rather than shifting around cause I have no room to move.

any suggestions where one might start looking for a genuine 'hood' for this unit, IF I get it. I know a old car restorer and what he can make from a flat piece of sheet metal and a couple of photos, ie vintage headlights etc, problem is although a mate he also has the pleasure of relieving $$ from your wallet.
