I tried a 3/8" spirial upcut router bit and thought it cut cleanly on the soft wood I was mortising. So might stick with it

Hi, last week I went too look at, what I thought was, a used circular saw for sale. Turned out to be a Luna W59 combination saw, moulder, thicknesser/jointer and mortiser. I bought it as it looked a solid machine.
It wasn't in great shape and had a fair bit of rust. Still working on cleaning it up at the moment so havent had a chance to use it. Spindle moulder is in pieces at the moment spread all over my work bench.
I especially liked the fact that the work surfaces have surfaces cut by planer.
Thanks for the dicussion on the motice attatchment, I was thinking it would need short chisels, due to the space available.
Cheers Brad

Apricotripper I haven't purchased the mortising table (yet) so can't tell how it cuts but I've been happy with the performance of all my Felder/hammer gear. I got the mortising chuck as a factory option.
Only mentioned it as info re a typical speed for mortising

thanks.

I've got a saw hood with that adjustment arm thats attached to it , to give away if anybody wants it. Nothing wrong with it.

also another thought was to use 4 flute end mill bits that are used for steel for a cleaner cut if required...... slower but cleaner.
