    Default McJing Keyless Chuck

    Hi All

Has anyone bought a keyless chuck from McJing & measured the runout? I would be keen to hear any feedback on the J0116H (0.2mm - 16mm B18)

Their website states precision as .12, which I'm assuming is 0.12mm, or approx 5 thou'

Otherwise, any suggestions on a precision chuck for a drill press (MT2)??

    Default Alternatives.

    Ross,

I have a couple of Jacobs 14N Super Ball Bearing chucks. They are not keyless. One is installed in my drill, the other I use in the tailstock of my lathe. They are accurate, rebuildable and do not slip. List price in Precision Tooling's 2009 price list is a ludicrous $438.10 plus GST each. I paid about 60 bucks for each on US Ebay plus shipping.

I also have, and seldom use, a Rohm Supra keyless chuck. I purchased it new from Blackwoods in 2002 for $156.71. A superb chuck but without the gripping power of the super chucks. These three chucks all 0 - 1/2" capacity. All are fitted with 2 Morse arbors.

    Bob.
