I bought it in a moment of madness not knowing what I would do with it and I still don't. Somehow I think I had something like four poster beds in mind, but with the advent of 2400mm ceilings demand for those monstrosities has diminished significantly!

At $100 it seemed such a good buy! Ignore the fact that it is about five meters long overall and although I have a large trailer I still had to make an extension platform over the drawbar. Ignore that I had to travel interstate to collect it and ignore that I too don't have three phase power. Naturally, one day I will get it going. But not this year

    Is your motor physically larger?

I think the risk should be fairly low. If you find yourself not able to use the VFD on this motor, the chances are excellent that you will use it sooner or later, and the process of getting it connected up and configuring it optimally will provide you with a skill that will be increasingly useful as VFD’s become more and more affordable and commonplace.

At least that’s what I’m telling myself as I work myself up to going down that rabbit hole.

    Bushmiller,

I'm seeing some of myself in your last post... am going to take that as a good thing I haven't been able to measure the motor as its at the motor re-winders. When I get it back I'll measure it.

    Colin62,

I'm telling myself the same thing and keeping my fingers crossed.
