Thread: Mounting Jet drum sander on stand?

You could put cleats around the edge of it to hold it from moving, if no holes are in it!
Make sure that your castors have a braking arrangement to stop it from moving DAMHIKT.

Thanks Kryn, was hoping to use my leftover piece of 35mm thick bench top as the platform, which is very close to the footprint, so was hoping not to have to use a cleat.

Good point about the brakes on the castors. The other thing I have found is the black hard nylon wheels , even in the locked position, can still slide over a concrete floor, depending on how hard you are pushing, so will look for some rubber wheels

I just make all my four legged stands with wheels on two legs only. They are then wheeled like a wheelbarrow.

Thanks for this info, rustynail, I am a recent convert to this method, nearly finished the router table using screw in handles at the front, and two rear wheels that touch the ground when the unit is lifted at the front. The frame sits on 4 adjustable legs, quite stable.

What do you suggest for a bandsaw ?

On the JET 16/32 there are 4 holes in the subframe that would be good to use to mount to a bench or other sort of stand.
I used a filing cabinet to be able to use the volume underneath and a filing cabinet is a very good storage facility for sheet sandpapers.
Just one thing to keep in mind, these sanders need VERY good dust extraction!
