    Question Ozito Track Saw Opinions?

I'm thinking I need a tracksaw but I definitely do not have the money for something expensive & yes I know you get what you pay for.

Has anyone had experience or immediate knowledge on the Ozito saw at Bunnies. The only thing I want it for is breaking down sheet goods so I can manage them on the table saw (partly parylised), so this is all I'm really concerned with.

I’m not familiar with the Ozito unit but I bought this one plus an extra 1400mm track. It will now allow me to cut 2400mm sheets. It’s dearer unfortunately even though it’s on special.

You could always make your own guide and use a plain circular saw.

Sorry, I can't comment on the Ozito, but after buying a tracksaw with dust extraction I have no regrets. Accurate cuts and little dust to clean up. Can't remember how much I spent but enjoy every moment of use. The stores I bought the gear from no longer sell that make, but it is available at many other stores and on line.

ONLY good things I've had from Ozito were there random orbits These have lasted for far longer than expected - even NEEDING brushes and main bearing on the random orbit bit. Every other piece of Ozito has been crap, the worst was their "heavy duty" jig saws - both were returned without wearing out ONE blade between them -still waiting for its next cut, had molten plastic coming from the shaft as it waved about loosely. Presume the shaft guide was PLASTIC, drop-saw vague, cordless (again the HEAVY variant) OK but the battery melted. Think the random orbits (heavy version) was a fluke. ( but now have 2 -2nd from cash converters -$15)

If you only want it to break down sheets I can’t see why it wouldn’t do the job but as Handyjack said, if funds are tight you could easily make a track sled for your existing saw to do the job.
I had one made out of a bit of 10 mm MDF and it did the job.

I have the Ozito track saw and use it for exactly the purpose you propose. It works just fine for this and if you hook it up to a shop vac or other dust extractor, it leaves very little mess. The only thing I would recommend would be to put a decent after market blade on it (I put a Diablo on mine I think - designed for cross-cutting/finish cutting).

I have a number of Ozito cordless hand tools as well, and for the money, I can’t fault them. One drill/driver died on me, but with a five year warranty, I just took it back to Bunnings and received a brand new unit on the spot (an updated model to boot) with no questions asked.

I like my “nice” tools as well - I admit to having a couple of Festool items - but for some really basic stuff like drills, drivers and track saws for breaking down sheet goods, it’s hard to go past these as value for money. They will do what you ask of them (within reason) and they come with a 5 year warranty. What’s not to like?

I have the Ozito track saw as well and it did nicely to trim some 17 mm form ply I had to cut down.

They offer a 1400 track as well for the ozito.

My only advice is be carful with a thin blade. I bought the diablo blade bunnings had in the correct size. but when i would go to cut the blade would not spin but the centre would. went back to the standard blade and worked fine. I have heard other s have the same issue. seems like it does not like thin blades.

Other than that it is what it is and will not be comparable to makita or festool but it also does not cost nearly as much. I like it as full sheet' are hartd to handle by yourself if you do not do it often and this seems much safer for me anyway.

I recently picked up the Kreg rail system; Kreg 1220mm Accu-Cut Rail Guide System | Total Tools
Have it setup on my DeWalt cordless, and it works darn well. I'm impressed at how it doesn't move around without clamps unless I'm not paying attention and put a bit of sideways force on the saw.
Can get it with an extra set of rails for $110 more.

I’ll second what Lordbug said, the Kreg is a great little unit.

There is an endless number of videos on YouTube about making your own track saw.
    Apologies for unnoticed autocomplete errors.

    Hi all,

Can anyone confirm if the Ozito tracks are compatible with any other system such as the Scheppach or Makita/Festool standards?

By the way, if anyone is after a cheap plunge saw then look into the Bayer from Sydney Tools. 1200w saw plus 1400mm track (Makita/Festool compatible) for $199. Sydney Tools

    Thanks
