Default personally....I wish I COULD blame the Indian cricket team, JET 16/32

Earlier this year, after another failure of the English cricket team gave me some free time, I started a project to improve my JET 16/32 sander....

    https://www.woodworkforums.com/showth...fletty+cricket

Well, the Indians are playing MUCH better today but I still decided to take the opportunity to finish the project. In that post I bemoaned the fact that, because of the height, I couldn't use my conveyor stand anymore so I decided to add integral infeed and outfeed rollers because i am having trouble with long workpieces and accurately double feeding a workpiece wider than the 16" of the open-ended sander. So, I bought a pair of Carbatec's roller stands and made a set of hinged frames to support them. The frames tuck into the sides of the stand

    sanderstand01.jpg sanderstand02.jpg

but fold out so that the rollers line up before and after the sander platten

    sanderstand03.jpg

When the side frames are retracted, the rollers can overlap each other and the frames are 'locked' back with a couple of REM. The overall footprint is no larger than before the rollers were fitted.

It's not quite finished but I photographed it while the frames were still blue otherwise they just merge into the black sides of the old filing cabinet. Later today I'll paint the frames gloss black (maybe black and yellow diagonals to satisfy the Factories Act  ) and give it a real trial.

Try adding them as a thumbnail rather than in the body of the text. Also try clearing cookies and caches and re-post.
Or email them to me and I will try and add them as it seems to be your computer that has the problem.
Those were the droids I was looking for.

    Hi,
Have you tried reloading the photos?
You may have had a drop out half way through uploading.
Best of luck, as they say to really screw it up you need a computer.

Thank you Bob, Pat, Tony and Hugh. Personally I prefer the 'stuff up fairy" yarn and thankfully a simple reload doesn't necessarily disprove it!
At a recent party I was engaged in a round of story telling where one of my Irish friends told me of a recent dilemma facing a rural Irish Council road project. Their choice was the destruction of a religious grotto OR a fairy tree ....the fairy tree won!

    Hi,
All's well that ends well, they are there now, and were worth the wait.

I cleaned up the welds and edges and gave the frames a coat of gloss black. Using loose pin hinges makes it all a lot easier.

    sanderstand05.jpg sanderstand06.jpg

I haven't fitted the rollers yet because there was a great clap of thunder overhead and I bought the frames into the shed while the paint was a bit too soft. It's back to sunshine now though so it should be hard enough to go back into full use tomorrow.
