Default Some good Photoshopping by Carbatec on oscillating edge sanders?

So I'm perusing the sites as I'm thinking of getting an oscillating edge sander if I can somehow convince the wife it's a crucial necessity, so far the Jet one seems to be the best value and also isn't 2.2kW which is good.

But....I see Carbatec have released their sander now, but unless I'm mistaken it's a Jet Photoshopped with Carbatec's blue colour?

If you look carefully you see where they used the eraser to remove the power switch, and forgot to put it back!

So does this mean the Carbatec is simply a re-branded Jet?

    Lololol

    Oops...

All the carbatec stuff is rebranded something else (just like pretty much everyone else whose machines look the same), just depends who's doing the best deal for them at the time.

The Laguna and Ledacraft look the same too, just with a different switch

Or you could get this monster for the same price... https://www.machines4u.com.au/view/a...-Large/446608/

The jet stuff is sometimes rebranded generic stuff with maybe a few different jet specific diddely bobs.

I think this officially came out of Scott Morrison's office - same staffer that bought us "shoegate".
Now proudly sponsored by Binford Tools. Be sure to check out the Binford 6100 - available now at any good tool retailer.

You'd reckon they could have got a professional graphic artist to do the 'blueing over' instead of getting the most junior counter jumper to do it in 'Paint'.
Until I saw that I thought some of the stuff I did was bad, I'm actually pretty good.

That's a pretty poor effort, but then again, it's about the level I expect from my local CT store.

Maybe cause the Carbatec one doesn't come with a power switch?

Although the CT one is $100 cheaper, I'd probably like my sander to come with a means to turn it off/on, might be a useful feature.

The biggest difference is no where on the carbatec one does it say it's an oscillating sander. Which would account for the 10kg difference.

By the naming I suspect the carbatec unit is probably the same as the Leda unit which shares a similar "big boy" name.

But the pic shows the exact same oscillating roller head on the left of the unit?

Unless they forgot to blur that out so it looks like a standard roller for their unit?

Yeah, I'd definitely be paying the extra $100- for the Jet. The on/off switch, better quality paint and cabinet door themselves make it seem a relative bargain by comparison...

    Cheers, Dom
