Default Rigid Horizontal Sander Not Square

The sander seems to be narrower in the center than at the ends where the wheels are located. What can I do to bring out the center of the sanding surface?

We'll need more info. What type/make/model is it, maybe pics and a better description of the problem.

The more you can tell us, the less guessing we have to do and the more likely we can help fix it.

I figured all woodworkers have seen the well known Rigid horizontal sander. This problem I discussed has been discussed on other wood working sites but related to standard sanders. thank you. see attachment.

Have you tried holding a straight edge across it? With the machine turned OFF, of course!

'Cos this shouldn't be a problem! It hasn't suffered any hard knocks, has it?

The platen isn't normally adjustable... but you may be able to pack it out from the assy with a couple of very thin washers if the "cup" is only minimal. (You're limited how far you can tweak it by the lever arm.)

Years ago I had a couple of hand-held belt sanders that had a thin cork layer and then a teflon-impregnated "slip sheet" over the platen. Something like this should work nicely to pack it out if you need more adjustment.
I may be weird, but I'm saving up to become eccentric.
